Blackfinch portfolio company Tended named ‘one of the best inventions of 2023’ by Time Magazine
Tended, an early-stage company that features in Blackfinch’s VCT and EIS portfolios, was named in Time Magazine’s prestigious list of Best Inventions for 2023. Based in Lincoln and founded in 2017, Tended designs intelligent and affordable personal safety wearables and monitoring systems. Its patent-pending wearable uses machine learning to automatically monitor a user’s safety and alert a key contact in the event of an accident or emergency.
Tended experienced notable success during the pandemic after developing a reliable social distancing product, and now focuses on improving the safety of workers across multiple industries, including construction, manufacturing, utilities, and logistics, by using its high-accuracy positioning hardware.
Tended already counts several industry leaders as its customers, including Siemens, Rolls-Royce, Network Rail and Unilever, and recent signed a contract with the European Space Agency to advance its capabilities to deliver “the next generation of geospatial technology”.
