Spring Forum - London

Compliance

Thursday 8 May, 09.30-14.00

etc.venues Monument, EC3M 1AE

This session will provide you with essential updates on our business and our analysis of the current industry environment. We'll also hear an investment market overview from Lothar Mentel (CIO, Tatton Investment Management Ltd) and a key compliance session from Graeme Stewart (Head of Consultancy, Paradigm), as he looks at the FCA’s focus and priorities for the next two years. We will also remind firms about the FCA findings and expectations around non-financial misconduct, and the resources Paradigm offers to help firms.

These sessions are designed with Wealth and Investment firms in mind, and as always, CPD certificates will be provided for all attendees.

We are also pleased to welcome our strategic partners to share insights on various topics:
Following on from the governments first budget, tax changes are forcing people to take a much closer look at their financial affairs, especially Inheritance Tax. With the proposed changes to pension pots being included for IHT and the changes to agricultural and business relief, it all means a lot more people than ever could be paying inheritance tax. We are therefore delighted to be joined by two specialists in this area who will focus their presentations on different aspects of this issue.
Matt Johnson, Key Partnerships Manager at Octopus Investments will cover all things Inheritance Tax (IHT), including the main exemptions, budget changes, simple ideas you can implement with your clients today, and will run through scenarios that may come up when looking at the RNRB.
In our second IHT session, M&G will delve into the recent changes to IHT regulations affecting pension funds. Exploring how these changes, effective from April 2027, will impact estate planning and retirement strategies and consider potential withdrawal strategies aligned to the principles of the Thematic Review. You'll gain insights into:
  • The new IHT rules and their implications for pension funds
  • Strategies for mitigating increased tax liabilities and withdrawal strategies
  • Practical considerations for advising clients with substantial pension wealth

Join Sol Lemoigne & Mark Chanda from Fintegrate for a practical session designed to help financial advisers streamline their processes, enhance efficiency, and deliver superior client outcomes.

They’ll demonstrate how you can significantly reduce time, cost, and complexity while maintaining a high standard of advice. Discover how to create a robust, repeatable process that increases consistency, improves compliance, and aligns seamlessly with your CIP. Plus, learn how to generate clear, meaningful reports that resonate with clients and reinforce their financial goals.
Sean Parry, Strategic Account Manager at Aviva, will be joined by a local BDM to explain all the great things the Aviva Platform can offer to you and your clients.
You will find Sean at the Aviva exhibition stand.
